It's interesting being put down for being a person who "feels a way" or is deeply passionate about people or the world around them. We live in a world that is "connected" in so many ways, yet we are utterly disconnected as humans. If a person walks by you, chances are, you don't think twice about who they are, you probably don't even notice them. How many times have you ever wondered who that person was, what they do, or even took the time to quickly read their demeanor and body language and think about what they are going through, how their day was, what's on their mind, etc...
There are very few people out there who really feel what the people around them are feeling, not as in change their emotions to conform to others, but moreso empathize with others to the point where if they see someone cry they tear up without explanation, or get excited when a friend tells them about a new and amazing opportunity- really "feeling a way." There are very few people out there that are aware of this deeper underlying connection to every other human being. We are so occupied with trying to stand out, identify and label ourselves as being seperate and different that we have lost sight of us being one humanity coming from one planet.
